New GnR Album!

Add to Technorati Favorites

Guns and Roses has finally come out with a new album! Although, Slash isn’t in the band anymore, so can it really be called Guns and Roses? However the great news about the release of this album is the fact that Dr. Pepper is giving away a free can of Dr. Pepper from a promise it made a long while ago regarding this much fought over album.

“The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. “Chinese Democracy,” infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

“We never thought this day would come,” Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “But now that it’s here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.”

So finally with the release of this album, a major corporation has stuck behind its thoughts on a band that hated each other throughout its entire life span, and will be rewarding everyone with a free can of Dr. Pepper! However there is a catch, you must get the coupon located on Dr. Pepper’s website, and is only available for 48 hours on Sunday.

Well, another blow for the pirating industry as the Senate passed an RIAA back bill that will further make stricter rules on intellectual property.  Information taken from the C-Net article which will be linked below this my take on this subject will be provided below.

The RIAA is the group that is trying to protect musicians and their right to release music and stop the pirating and illegal sharing of copyrighted music.  This information and group all began bitching when Napster blew up the scene back in the early 2000’s.  Firstly, as you can see, I am not big on the stance of musicians trying to protect their business and their creative commons.  However, I give credit to the bands that accept and nurture the sharing abilities of the music to the masses and support getting their names out by any means possible.  But, I do agree with the other half in trying to protect their music and making money, because hey its a business.

I finally just don’t think that they will ever be able to stop the pirating of music just yet, because there are so many outlets and so many places.  There just isn’t enough jurisdiction on the web to control what the whole world does, and frankly if that ever happens, it’s going to be a sad state for the world, and Big Brother can take into effect.  The link to read the full article can be found here.  CNet.com – Senate passes RIAA-backed bill

Big brother is getting closer and closer to controlling the masses folks!  Steve Jobs unveiled the new Iphone and boy does it look sleek and more affordable price.  Steve Jobs is quote as saying “We’ve learned so much with the first iPhone. We’ve taken what we’ve learned and more and created the iPhone 3G.”  I don’t know what I am more happy about.  The fact that every few months or so they release a new phone making it cheaper and more efficient.  Or the fact that whoever purchased the latest and best Iphone is getting screwed out of money due to the decrease in prices and new super releases of the same product.  Either way, its awesome.

I for one, don’t see why they can’t develop one Iphone with compatibility to just load everything off of the web.  I think that it would be more efficient as well as making their consumer pay more for the applications.  To me, it’s absurd that people are actually going out and buying these things up at such a fast pace.  This country is so upset about prices and economy, and our unwilling to cope with gas prices, yet we’ll go drop $300 bucks on a new phone because we have to have the latest and greatest…..is there something wrong there?

Call me crazy, but I see the problems that lie withtin there.  I forgot to mention how obessed society is with having the newest stuff to claim their social status.  Were all to blame though as well, its just as much our fault as it is the media outlet, because we eat this crap up like candy.

Hopefully it changes some day.  But, I worry as if something drastic has to happen before people even realize the total sense of hypocrisy they are living.

Ok, so I’ve been pondering the fact of adding forums for awhile, simply to try and stop the boredum of a day.  I wanted some place I could go, that has a little something for everything.  But, most of all I wanted to control it and be that awesome admin, most places don’t have.  I’m making this a democracy and taking the info and input that I get from the users and making adjustments to what they see fit.

The forums that I have added are mostly entertainment forums, but I have sports/politics/religion.  I created it yesterday so I am still smoothing things out.  Now my mission is to get users.  I want it to be alive with information/etc.  I want it to be a place that you can go to and learn about each other, life, media, all things entertainment.

But, I can’t do this without a few good people, and maybe two or three global administrators.  So please, I am asking, if your willing to help, sign up and let me know.  If you want to talk….please come!  Save my day.  Save your day, and maybe we can get through work a little easier 🙂

frustrate me. Who cares about freshman players going to what school. I love sports, but seriously if nothing has happened in the sports world yet, pick something else to make a feature. Oh another good one, Chikize or how ever you spelled it was kicked from AI. Again, who cares. Yes, it’s popular because millions of people watch the show and “consider” it a credible lead story.

It’s only “credible” because society has been dulled this world to a point that, this kind of stuff has been made to be important. Thank you media/papos, for creating the hell of a digital world we live in.

Update as of 11:44

A new story has been added to the featured topic. Who is to blame when kids curse? The answer is in the first line of the article……the parents, who would have thought? Again, this is another spin doctor scare tactic that is crazy and only judge mental when the media wants it to be. My parents disciplined me like crazy for cussing as a kid, until I learned it wasn’t ok to do so, until you learn what repercussions could happen if you use them.

Its just hilarious because, when a kid shoots up a school, its the music/movies/games fault. But when a kid swears its the parents fault. What the truth is though, it’s always the parents fault, for not teaching their kids how to be responsible and grow up knowing how to decipher between reality and a dream world.
